There is two parts in this assignment:
First part:
This time, YOU get to write the puzzler!
It's to get you in gear for the endocrine therapies coming up next.
Pick
an endocrine disease. (Go on the internet and search for endocrine disorders,
or look in any medical surgical book. IT MUST BE A DISEASE DIRECTLY CAUSED BY
EITHER HORMONAL EXCESS OR DEFICIENCY.)
DO NOT reveal what hormone is out of whack.
Instead, describe the symptoms of a patient who suffers from this disease.
(Be as descriptive as you can, but DO NOT give it away by giving any disease
names or mentioning any hormones. Don't name specific tests that would give it
away. Your colleagues will need all the help they can get, but don't make it a
"gimmie".)
Their job will be to determine what hormone is involved.
Second Part:
Discuss how you would ensure your practice is submitting correctly coded, "clean" claims to the Clearinghouse
