Genetic transformation is the process that involves the introduction and expression of
foreign genes in a host organism (In Flachowsky and C.A.B. International, 2013). Genetic
transformation is both applied in plants and animals. They can be used to transform plants into
medicine and also introduce a new breed of animals using other genes. The organism that I
would genetically modify would be animals. This is because animals will bring a better result
than plants which are destroyed during experiments.
Transgenic technology has methods such as cloning that allow the transfer of genes
between different species in animals. Cloning is used to produce an identical organism that has
been created using the DNA of a different gene. Microinjection of cloned genes is used to create
the transgenic animals. The cloned injection is injected into the pronuclear of a fertilized ovum
or the embryonic stem cells into embryos. They are then removed and placed in a glass.
