1.
Identify three comments I wrote on your mini-research paper.
1. What argument/claim is being made? Research papers should always make and then
support an arguable claim. An overview of current research would be a research
report, not a research paper.
2. Where is the conclusion paragraph?
3. The in-text citation should always go at the end of the sentence with the
quote/paraphrase...

Unit 3 Healthcare Problems Presentation
Unit 3: Satire Unit ProjectPart 1: For this Unit Project, you will be writing a satirical essay
addressing a problem in your community. You may choose community on any
level: local, school, national, or world. You may choose a topic as
large as global warming or as focused as uniforms in your high school. I
recommend choosing something on the national scale for ease of
research.Click on the link https://intervisualtechnology.us/pxudpothrb/167/17... to view the Project Rubrics for this project.Possible topics could include:Global warmingHealth careFood stamps or unemployment benefitsGun controlImmigrationNational debtEducation reformThese are a few suggestions, but you may choose any topic that you
can satirize. (The exception to this is abortion rights. This topic is
off-limits for this essay.)Once you have chosen a topic, your paper should explain the debate:What are the arguments on either side? What logical, ethical, and emotional appeals are used?Who are the key figures in the debate (politicians, actors, news pundits, etc)?Use a minimum of four quotes, properly cited. Then, propose a ridiculous solution to the problem. Proceed with your
paper by using logical, ethical, and emotional appeals to make a
satirical case as to why your ridiculous solution is the "best"
solution.Your whole essay should be written in a satirical tone, in the way that Swift does in Modest Proposal. (You can also refer to Stephen Colbert as an excellent modern example.) Sell your solution! You must use all three of the following satirical devices:Exaggeration or hyperboleUnderstatementIrony or SarcasmPart 2Now that you have constructed your satirical argument, turn that into
a multi-media presentation. Turn your argument into a
PowerPoint presentation. Here, give you argument more dimension. Your presentation should include a variety of additional materials:Video clips from key figures in the debatePicturesThis essay should be between two and five pages (500-1250 words)
in length. Your final draft should be saved and submitted as .doc. It should be in 12-point font in Times New Roman. Your
presentation must be at least three minutes long or include a minimum of ten slides.10% of your grade will be on grammar and mechanics. Write as clearly and correctly as you can. This means that 90% of your grade is based on your ideas - however, you will not earn an A if you do not proofread carefully and check for errors. Most importantly, remember this is a culminating project for the Satire Unit. Your essay should show everything you have learned throughout the unit. Remember: do not submit in pdf, only Word files will be accepted. Thank you.

Family necessities
You are working with the Rosales family. They have been referred to your agency for food assistance. The family recently emigrated from Mexico after Mr. Rosales lost his job. At present they are living with Mrs. Rosales's cousins and Uncle in Phoenix. Mr. Rosales worked as an auto mechanic. His wife Salina is a homemaker but occasionally sold fruits and vegetables from a roadside stand. They have two children, Jose age 7 and Esmerelda age 10. Esmerelda speaks some English as does her father. Mrs. Rosales speaks no English and her 7-year-old son is beginning to learn English. At present, Mr. and Mrs. Rosales are struggling to maintain basic needs for their family. In a 1-2 page paper address the following:Discuss the salient features from this case scenarioAs the human service worker, what would be your first course of action?Discuss strategies for communicating with this family in order to build trust and get them to engageIdentify a minimum of 3-4 concepts and definitions from your various human services courses and explain how these concepts are evident and relevant to this scenario. For example: "In the Rosales scenario there are several examples of human service concepts and terms. One term that is relevant to this scenario is cultural assimilation. Cultural assimilation refers to process by which a person from a differing culture adapts and changes behaviors to meet the demands of the new culture (Jones 2016). The family will need to learn English and adapt to the US culture as part of their assimilation process." Use bold print or italics to highlight the key concept and terms so that your instructor can easily identify the terms/concepts you have chosen for this scenario. Use credible sources where appropriate.

(20 points)Mayor Michael Bloomberg has done a lot to help improve the health of New York City residents. Smoking is outlawed in workplaces, restaurants and bars. Trans fat is banned in restaurants. Chain restaurants are required to post calorie counts, allowing customers to make informed choices.Mr. Bloomberg, however, is overreaching with his new plan to ban the sale of sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces. He argues that prohibiting big drinks at restaurants, movie theaters, stadiums and other food sellers can help combat obesity. But as he admits, customers can get around the ban by purchasing two drinks. The administration should be focusing its energies on programs that educate and encourage people to make sound choices. For example, obesity rates have declined slightly among students in elementary and middle schools, with the city's initiatives to make lunches healthier with salad bars, lower-calorie drinks and water fountains in cafeterias. Requiring students to get more exercise has also helped. The city should keep up its tough anti-obesity advertising campaigns—one ad shows that it takes walking from Union Square to Brooklyn to burn off the calories from a 20-ounce soda. The mayor has also started adult exercise programs and expanded the program for more fresh produce vendors around the city.Promoting healthy lifestyles is important. In the case of sugary drinks, a regular reminder that a 64-ounce cola has 780 calories should help. But too much nannying with a ban might well cause people to tune out.Citation: "A Ban Too Far." BIBL 425 Liberty University Romans Religion Paper
RESEARCH PROJECT:TOPIC ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONSOVERVIEWPaul’s letter to the Romans is perhaps the most logical and systematic of his letters in terms of presentation of a biblical theology, so it requires detailed study. Careful study of Scripture in its context leads to much better results than simply looking for material taken out of context to support a preconceived doctrine. So, the good student of Romans will first analyze Scripture, but always with a view to learning the theological point. An effective way to learn Romans, then, is to select a topic from a list of passages or sections of Romans on which you conduct scholar level research and analysis of the biblical text and then explain the results of the biblical analysis of the passage or section and the theological theme that can be drawn from the passage or section of the letter. INSTRUCTIONS When the topic has been selected, simply write the name of the topic (Romans 1:18 – 4:25; Rom 5:12 – 8:37, etc.) in the textbox. Do not write the complete paper. Students who opt for an exegetical paper on one of the passages must state specifically which of the available passages the paper will address.TopicsThe student may choose from one of the themes below or may choose a passage to exposit from the list farther down. Explanation of the Flow of Thought in Romans 1:18 – 4:25. This topic should address the following:1. Introduction: one to two paragraphs, no more than the first page. The thesis statement must appear as the last sentence in the paragraph and should identify the point to be argued.2. The importance of the section for the overall point of Romans. Is this the key element, secondary, or not important?3. What is the main theme of that section of Romans? One or two paragraphs should be sufficient here but be sure to include a definition of what the theme means (e.g. sin, justification, sanctification, etc.).4. Identify the organization of the thought in Romans 1:18 – 4:25. This section should identify the main points of the section with an explanation of how Paul developed each point. The student should expect to find 3 main points with each point developed in 1:18 – 3:20; 3:21-26 and 3:27 – 4:25. This section should occupy the bulk of the paper, up to seven pages, and it should support the thesis regarding what the main theme is.5. Conclusion. The conclusion should summarize the argument in the paper. No new argument may be developed in the conclusion. One or two paragraphs should be sufficient.BIBL 425Page 2 of 3 Explanation of the Flow of Thought in Romans 5:12 – 8:37. This topic should address the following: 1. Introduction: one to two paragraphs, but no more than the first page. Identify the organization of the thought in Romans 5 – 8. This section should identify the main points of the section with an explanation of how Paul developed each point. The student should expect to find three main points with each point developed in 5:12-23; 6:1-14; 6:15-23; chapter 7; 8:1-17 and 8:18-37 This section should occupy the bulk of the paper, up to seven pages and it should support the thesis regarding what the main theme is.5. Conclusion. The conclusion should summarize the argument in the paper. No new argument may be developed in the conclusion. One or two paragraphs should be sufficient. Explanation of The Righteousness of God in Romans. A paper on this topic should undertake the following:1. Introduction: one to two paragraphs, but no more than the first page. The thesis statement must appear as the last sentence in the paragraph and should identify the point to be argued.2. Briefly identify the main ways the righteousness of God is understood.3. Offer an explanation of each passage where the phrase “righteousness of God” appears in Romans with a primary emphasis on the meaning of the phrase in that passage.4. Offer a summary in which the paper either argues for an overall meaning of the phrase in Romans or argues there is is no single meaning in Romans. The latter should be argued with care.5. Conclusion. The conclusion should summarize the argument in the paper. No new argument may be developed in the conclusion. One or two paragraphs should be sufficient.6. As a note of guidance, the righteousness of God as a topic occurs in other writings of Paul in the NT. The paper should consider how the phrase is used in those locations, especially as support for the argument, but the paper is about the usage in Romans. The other uses should not be addressed extensively.Alternatively, Choose a Passage to ExpositRather than develop a section generally as above, the student may choose one of the passages listed below for a more detailed exegetical analysis. One (only one) of the following may be chosen for exegetical explanation: Rom 1:18-28 BIBL 425Page 3 of 3 Rom 2:1-10 (Do not fail to consider this within the overall point in Romans. Context is essential in this passage.) Rom 5:12-21 (As above, locate this within Romans.) Rom 8:1-11 (In addition to other issues, research should include resolution of the issue regarding the righteous requirements of the law.) Rom 14:1-12 or 14:13-23 (Be careful to note the issues in scholarship regarding the weak and the strong.)The exegesis of the selected passage should address the following regarding the one chosen passage:1. How the passage fits into the near context and how it fits into the overall flow of Romans. In one page or so, identify the point of Romans and explain how the passage fits into the flow of thought in Romans as the overall point in the letter is developed.2. Explain the matters of controversy or difficulty within the passage and suggest a resolution. This section should include explanation of key words, how the thought progresses in the passage and any points of controversy or tension in the text should be resolved. If there are issues that exist regarding other passages, that should be briefly addressed.3. Support from the passage the student’s position about the point of the passage within the theology of Romans. This section should not address how the passage fits within the student’s personal doctrinal position. This should address how the point of the passage fits into Paul’s overall point.4. An application of the passage to the original readers and to the present day situation within the student’s realm of experience. The application should be specific to a particular situation. The student should avoid statements of general principle and summaries of the passage. Each of the numbered points above for the chosen topic should appear as subheadings in the paper. Be sure to thoroughly analyze what the apostle Paul teaches in his letter to the Romans about the subheadings and questions listed above. Do not overlook the requirement that this topic be explained from Romans and not from the student’s personal doctrine or experience.
