My Community is a network of individuals who share similar beliefs, opinions, and
common practices. The community is bound by common goals and communicate using the same
language to facilitate transfer and dissemination of information. Within the community are a
social organization with formal communication channels, social hierarchies, division of labor
and communicable services that are characterized by social responsibility (Wenger, Trayner,
Fenton-O'Creevy, et al, 2014). Every member of the community has a specific role assigned to
him or her and is expected to deliver the best out of the responsibility. Accountability is a key
aspect of the community since every person is required to take charge of all activities and actions
that arise from the roles assigned to them.
The community is also characterized by accumulated expertise in its domain and has
formed a habit of interacting, brainstorming, and discussions to find solutions to issues affecting
the community (Wenger, Traynor & de Laat, 2011). Any problem that faces a member of the
community is treated as a common problem of the entire community and involves the input of all
the community members. With the insights that the community has implemented in the past
years, a common store of knowledge has been built that is used to teach the community members
social behavior and good ethics that uphold the interests and integrity of the community in high
esteem.
My community is characterized by problem-solving structures that have always relied on
policy measures and agenda so as to resolve any conflict arising between community members
and with non-community members. It has come up with a process of negotiation that will bring
all players an interested party in the conflict together to find a solution to their wrangles and
challenges (Wenger & Snyder, 2014). My community has also been instrumental in developing
and disseminating information to enlightened and educate its members on their expectation as

responsible members of the community. Equally, the community has provided enough
knowledge to address all the educational challenges facing the community so as to acquaint
themselves with the latest information that can be used to create a positive change in the
community (Wenger, 2006). Additionally, my community has always been in the forefront in
establishing innovative mechanisms that it uses to implement new strategies in everyday matters
of the community members
The community members perform a similar task and are required to collaborate when
undertaking community assignments. This has made the community members work as a team
and as peers in executing various activities. The community members are therefore held together
with unity of purpose and the need to contribute towards the realization of the objective of the
community (Wenger & Snyder, 2014). The community practices in my community are mainly
voluntary work and no member is forced to join the community, nor is any member barred or
restricted from leaving the community. Any member can join and leave the community at his or
her will. The community has also mastered the art of setting flexible and achievable goals that
can be changed depending on the prevailing circumstances.
There is no specific need or desire of the community in achieving its goals. Even after
the community members have engaged in their responsibilities and duties, the results from such
activates are hardly measured or discerned (Wenger, Traynor & de Laat, 2011). Each community
member is left to make personal judgments and conclusions on their level of satisfaction with the
kind of work that was done during the group work. The existence of the community is however
depended on the level of participation of the community members. This means that in any case
the community members do not actively get involved in the activities of the community, then the
essence of the community will not be meaningful in any way (Wenger & Snyder, 2014). Once
