Lean techniques
Lean techniques of manufacturing refer to the production approaches whose main
objective expresses the decrease of the wasteful procedures or processes which affect the
efficiency of the business. The efficiency of lean techniques is usually determined by its capacity
to reduce the work in progress as well as the inventory relative to the sales. Lean techniques were
established by Toyota in Japan and are aimed at ensuring that there were high quality and high
volume production with less work in progress, inventories as well as finished goods. The lean
technique is usually driven by the truth that wasteful procedures/processes have less or no effect
but they rather affect the efficiency of production process negatively. In addition, lean
production is an essential and effective business tool which ensures that the business promotes its
customer experience as well as competitive advantage. The application of lean techniques with
an objective of creating customer value protects as well as eliminates the production of wastes
within the manufacturing process. The waste products in the manufacturing process can be subdivided as; over-processing, overproduction, inventory, transport, defects as well as waiting
(Belekoukias, et al., 2014).
Generally, the waste products directly affect the production expenses, does not add any
value and do not attract consumers to make payment of the products and services provided by the
