Brainstorming Brainstorming Aicha Diallo S0C/262 George Hristovitch 10/30/2017 Problem facing our society today Brainstorming Despite the dire state of the world today, and the stereotype that millennials are selfish. The generation aged deeply about global issues, and there are determined to tackle them. I think there is at least one underlying problem that, until we solve it, will prevent us from solving the other problems that we face such as those enumerated by other answers to this question. And, that problem is the inability of people to honestly, communicate with each other in good faith. • Ensure Healthy Development for All Youth Climate change has significant implications for our health. Rising temperatures will likely lead to more frequent and severe heat waves, heavier rainstorms and flooding, and increased air pollution. All of these changes could pose serious, and costly, risks to public health. Change the World Together and get involved. Let's connect, communicate and change the world together. For some objectives lets create an environment where children can develop their confidence, self-esteem and improve their social skills. Children and youth are able to make positive life, learning and career choices, and have the ability to take responsibility for their own lives. Reinforce the resilience and industriousness of women for development through women-friendly programs. Provide opportunities for micro-credits to women and youths through partnership with existing micro-finance banking outlets. Organize trade fairs to showcase the entrepreneurial initiatives and abilities of women, with particular attention on rural women. Train and equip the youth with opportunities to develop and express themselves in line with their God-given talents and natural abilities. Institute world class training in sports and healthy competition to meaningfully and constructively engage the energies and imaginations of the youth. • Poverty Brainstorming Because poverty is not just about poverty but also about inequality, this is not a problem about them but a problem for us. Poverty is not a hindrance to success, thus, it is a stepping stone and a situation you're trying to conquer, and making yourself believe that you will be able to change the way you live your life. For example, a man is strong enough to expose himself and be an example of what a true strong person is with a determination to pursue his dream. To those people I know, who are so privileged enough in terms of family, education, shelter or financially, you have more than enough to achieve your goals, I see no reasons for you to end up just like any other person who had never attain education. Don't end up just like that. Let us make this as an inspiration, to go on and move forward, to pursue whatever dreams we want to achieve, and conquer challenges that's ahead of us. Poverty was never a reason that a person must give up on life. God is sending you help, through other people, He smoothens their hearts and make them an instrument for you to succeed in whatever goals and dreams you want to achieve. There's no forever in a situation you are in right now, if you're poor now, then probably someone should work it out and get out of being poor. Some may be rich, by now, but for how long, if you do not make efforts for yourselves, someday you will lose it. You do not just inherit, you have to do it. Since we have given the ability to speak and to act, then show the world what you wanted to be, then work it out, and the world will see. Always put this in mind. God will always be our guide, and He will help us all throughout the way. Just don't forget to pair your effort, with prayer. • Education Disparity To provide age-appropriate, developmentally sound activities that ensure the all round development of the youth. To provide a learning space where children and youth are exposed to programmers that help them in making healthy and socially accepted life choices. To improve Grade results and Matrix outcomes for school going children with a view to facilitating better Brainstorming opportunities post matrix. Being a mentor is being a trusted advisor. It can mean a lot of different things, but it all boils down to make yourself available to support and advise someone when they need it, delivering that support in a way that makes sense to them, and always, always keeping that person’s best interests in mind. The disparity shows students in remote regions are still lagging behind for a wide number of reasons. The disparities run, in some cases, to thousands of dollars per student per year. But even gaps of a few hundred dollars per child add up and offerings and quality are crimped for those with less money. • Drug/Alcohol Abuse Children become subject to higher dropout rates, higher risk of dangerous sexual behaviors and pregnancies, higher chances of drug and alcohol abuse. It truly takes a village to raise a child. Apparently, police officers, correctional officers, and all other law enforcement personnel are considered to be one of the top high-risk professions that struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. This is absolutely immoral and screwed up. I can testify first hand alcohol abuse and use is the most destructive drug of them all, and it's legal, causing over 88,000 deaths a year from abuse and use. That said, the DEA wants to make it harder and more expensive for grandma to get the pain medication she needs just to make it through another day of living. Opiod abusers aren't using opiods exclusively to get high, they're using alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs along with pain medication and/or heroin to attain their high. Alcohol is our nation's most destructive drug. Drug abuse and alcoholism is not a poverty issue instead it is a sign of dead and undeveloped souls. Those who surrender their souls to serve their Creator are best situated to prevent drug and alcohol abuse. Our Creator created us in our very nature to render our souls into total submission to the One Creator. Failure to do so creates in the human being the feeling of emptiness, sadness, grief, anxiety, fear and worry. The enemy of man brings in the drugs and alcohol to escape these Brainstorming uncomfortable feelings but it gives only temporary relief. The human being can only come into a permanent peace, happiness and contentment once the soul surrenders to its Creator. I agree that the issues, is addressing the world about the drug problem which is the main issue in the country. We should be essential in promoting health, creating peaceful and inclusive societies, and realizing the Global Goals. Let’s all ensure that we listen first and help children and youth grow healthy and safe. References Goldman LR. Chapter 17: Toxic chemicals and pesticides. Dernbach JC, editor. The technological advances that brought computers, cell phones, and the Internet into the homes of everyday people have changed the way we live our lives and interact with others. Changes in population and production have increased the standard of living in some countries, while also increasing the gap between the haves and the have nots. These economic developments, along with advances in technology, have created a more globalized and interconnected world. Some of these changes have been positive and others negative, but our ability to meditate on our actions in the context of the future will shape how we expand positive changes and resolve the negative ones. Though the future is uncertain, we can try to use our knowledge of the present to forecast the changes, advances, and difficulties of tomorrow. When we look into the future, we must consider how these changes and movements will shape the social issues that Millennials and future generations will have to confront. Early aggressive behavior, lack of parental supervision, academic problems, undiagnosed mental health problems, peer substance use, drug availability, poverty, peer rejection, and child abuse or neglect are risk factors associated with increased likelihood of youth=] substance use and abuse. Risk factors that occur during early childhood further increase the of youth substance abuse. Also, risk factor of prolonged duration, for example, those that continue on from childhood through adolescence, are also associated with increase d likelihood of youth substance abuse. Not all youth will develop problems, even if they have experienced these risk factors. Some individuals are exposed to protective factors that may keep them from using Rough Draft substances. Strong protection, such as parental support and involvement, could diminish the influence of strong risks, such as having peers who abuse substances. Threats to the safety of our environment are a growing problem. The rising global population and limits of earth's ability to sustain such a l arge population is a growing concern for the future. While some regions are able to produce surpluses of food and necessities, others face poverty and famine. Unless changes are made today, environmental problems will become more severe and their consequen ces more intense in the future. Millennials are responsible for making immediate lifestyle changes that are friendly to the environment. Making these changes today will ensure that future generations will still have a planet they can appreciate and care fo r. I strongly believe that the issues, are addressing the world about the drug problem which should be the main focus in our society. We should be focus in promoting health, creating peaceful and inclusive environment for our societies, and realizing the i mportant goals. Thinking about the future and trying to foresee it's challenges is difficult and inexact task. However, the more we consider how our actions today will affect tomorrow, the more we are able to see that our willingness to implement change an d social good will have a direct impact of solving foreseeable problems.
