  1. Select one of the following art media:
    • drawing
    • mixed media
    • painting
    • sculpture
  2. After making your selection, brainstorm ideas about how you think other people perceive you. Consider the following questions:
    • Do you think they see you as a scholar or an athlete?
    • Do they associate you with a specific hobby, like reading or knitting?
    • What other things do you do on a regular basis that would help create a self-portrait that other people would recognize? For example, do you love the outdoors? Do you love animals? Do some brainstorming to come up with a few ideas.
  3. Use the art media you chose to create a self-portrait that reflects your personality. Use ideas from your brainstorming exercise to help guide this process. Incorporate these ideas into your self-portrait.
