In the modern business world, characterized by increasing competitiveness and
dynamism in all sectors, the successful existence of organizations has become significantly
dependent on the effectiveness of its leadership (Mastrangelo, Eddy & Lorenzet, 2004). As such,
research has established that many aspects within an organization are profoundly influenced by
the type of leadership exercised in the entity; as in the case of organizational culture,
productivity, motivation, and employee attitude and satisfaction (Tsai, 2011). Therefore,
organizations adopt various types of leadership in a bid to boost their vigor towards the
achievement of their organization’s goals and objectives. Among the various types of leadership
