Project 4 At the beginning, I took this class because it is a capstone class, and I never thought this class is so meaningful. Though the whole semester, I gain a lot of knowledge, and I learned some information that I cannot learn in the outside of class. After this class, I understand more about the human sexuality, different thought between male and female and some sexual diseases. In this class, professor invite some guest speakers, and they were not afraid to share their stories and teaches me the useful knowledge. In the first class, I had learned why we need to study sexuality, and why we need to study sex. Sexuality is “a uniquely human trait, much more than mating ritual, related to sexual intercourse, sexual activities”. Sometimes, people think they know everything about sex, but most of people actually know very little about sex. The most important thing to let people’s partner know their thought is to communication with each other face to face. I also know why some people are sexual abstinence. Some people are waiting for right person, and some people are focusing on school and careers. Different people have different reason to be sexual abstinence. I think I need to respect each person’s feeling and thoughts. I learned a very famous quote for Margaret Sanger: “No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her body. No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother.” I totally agree her idea because it is very important to female that not only can control her thought but also control what she wants to do. I learned if I want to look at some reliable news, I need to go to some website which has .org .edu, or .org. The last thing I have learned in the first class is the term sexual health literacy. The sexual health literacy is “the degree to which people have the capacity to obtain, process and understand basic sexual health information and services and make appropriate decisions”. In the first class, I learned some basic information about sexuality, and I know the purpose to learn the human sexuality. Before I took this class, I was too shy to speak and learn about sex. Now I think it is ok to speak out. The lecture 2 is about the history of sex. I learned the abortion used to be criminal, and unmarried women could not get contraception. I think it is not fair to female, and female need to have right to choose if they want to have baby. I also learned that different countries have different sex history. For example, India has Kama Sutra, and China has some sexuality books. To study sex history, I can have better understand of sex. In the lecture 3, we talked about the female’s anatomy. I did a presentation about this topic. I have learned the female body structure. I learned vulva includes mons veneris, labia majora, labia minora, sensitive vaginal introitus and urethra. Female internal include vagina, uterus, cervix, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. Female need to look their own body and have a self-exam. I have also learned the Masters and Johnson four stages. They are excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution. In the lecture 4, I have learned the structure of male body. I learned the circumcised and uncircumcised. I also know some fun facts that one third of world men are circumcised. The circumcise have a lot of benefits. They are preventing urinary tract infections, and preventing HIV, some STIS, penile cancer. Some babies were circumcised when they were born. The decision was made by the parents and doctor. I think it is good for babies’ healthy, and parents should tell their babies about that when they grow up. The external male genitals include the shaft of penis, testes, corona, glans, urethral orifice, and foreskin. Male need to do testicular self-exam, and testicular cancer-most common cancer in males 15 to 35. The lecture 5 is about the gender roles and behaviors. I learned some basic terminology such as sex, gender, assigned, gender identity, cis-gender, and transgender. People should respect everyone’s choose. Each person has their own right to identified their gender. I learned some stories about Jamie Shoup, and Thomas Beaties. I also moved by the stories of Evan and Roxy. In lecture 6, we discussed about the childhood and adolescent sexuality. In this lecture, I saw a lot of advertisements let kids wear some adult clothes, and some TV shows also use kids to attract audience’s eyes. These things have very bad influence to young kids, and they may follow the TV shows. Each school should have a good sex education program. In lecture 7, we talked about the sexuality in adulthood. In this lecture, we discussed the cohabitation and marriage. The cohabitation is increasing recent years. Cohabitation has some benefits such as learn partner, no legal ties, and more realistic than dating, but almost 50% couples will break up within one year. I think that because people live together and find each person has various bad things. Marriage also has some benefits like tend to be happier, healthier, and live longer. I think marriage is a couple ready to have a family and live together no matter what. In the lecture 8, I have learned something about love and communication. I know the changes in love over time. I also know the different reason that people looking for in a mate. I also know why relationships fail. In this lecture, I have better understand of love and the relationship with my partner. The lecture 11 is a very important for people no matter female or male. The guest speakers that day were really helpful. They told me the different way to prevent pregnancy and some sexuality diseases. For example, I know the safest way to prevent that is abstinence. I also learned some method such as barrier methods. Barrier methods include male condom, female condom, diaphragm, cervical cap, and contraceptive sponge. The hormonal methods include birth control pills, NuvaRing, the patch, the implant and intra uterine contraceptive. Hormonal contraceptive does not protect against STIs or HIV. I think in a sex activity, everyone should have responsible for the birth control and protections. People cannot rely on others, and people should control their body. If people can use the condoms and hormonal method together, there are very high chance to prevent pregnancy and STIs. In the lecture 15 and 16, I have learned so much things about the sexually transmitted infections, and HIV. Before I took this class, I don’t have any clear image about the HIV patients. I learned HIV patients look normally just like people who are very healthy. I was really moved by the story of the guest speaker. I cannot imagine if this kind of thing happened on me what would I do. She looks like a normal person. I used to think if a person has HIV, he or she has a lot of sex partners, and they have too many sex activity. When I listened her story, I realized I was totally wrong. She reminded me that I used to read a book about one young couple who had HIV by sold their blood to make a living. No one has right to judge others. When I saw the guest speaker are living with her lovely family, and she is happy to share her thought and her stories to us, I felt she is a brave person I have ever seen. In this class, we also did a lab test that if in a class just one person has HIV and he or she can transfer this disease to almost half class. It tells me that it is very important to choose sex partner, and it is very critical to communicate with sex partner about he or she sex history. I also learned that some sex diseases cannot be cure. Some STIs was caused by the bacteria. I learned the different type of STIs and the cause of these disease. The most important thing is communication. In the lecture 17, I have learned preventing sexual aggression, laws and violence. I learned some terminologies of the sexual violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape. I know that even married people can be report as rape. Through the whole semester, I have learned so much thing that I cannot learn in the outside of the classroom. I know the different body structure of female and male. In my country, I never heard of the sex education, and we don’t care and very shy to speak about the things of the sex. I think it is very important for young people, and they need to have more knowledge t not only protect themselves but also protect their partner. I saw a lot of bad things happened in China because young kids don’t know things about sex and don’t know how to protect themselves. If I have a kid in the future, I would teach my children some class about sex. Sex education is not only important for young people, but also for some adults because some adult don’t know much about the sex either.

Explanation & Answer

Hello! I have attached the answer in word document for you. Also I have attached a document that shows what I edited and changed to make the essay better.:) Let me know if you have any further questions.

Project 4 Outline of the areas Edited
Primarily, I took this class because it is a capstone class and I never thought it was so
meaningful. However, throughout the entire semester, I gained a lot of knowledge and I
learned much information that I would have not learnt outside this class. During the class
session, the professor invited some guest speakers and they freely shared their stories and
instilled useful knowledge unto us. After this class, I understood more about the human
sexuality, the difference between male and female and some sexual diseases.
The first class lecture reflected on the necessity of studying sex and sexuality and I
learnt the following: Sexuality refers to “a uniquely human trait, much more than mating
exercise, that is related to sexual intercourse”. Many people may think they know everything
about sex but they actually know very little. The most important thing for sexual partners to
know is their communication with each other face to face. I also learnt why some people
practice sexual abstinence. Different people have different reasons, some are waiting for the
right partner while others are focusing on their education and careers and now I think I need
to respect each person’s decision and thoughts. I learned a very famous quote for Margaret
Sanger that: “No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her body. No
woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be
a mother.” I completely agree with her idea because it is very important for a woman to
appreciate that not only can she control her thought but also can determine what she wants
to do. Further, I learnt that if I want to look at some reliable news, I need to go to some
website which has the extension .org .edu, or .org. Finally, I understood the term sexual
health literacy that it refers to the degree to which people have the capacity to obtain, process
and understand basic sexual health information and services and make appropriate
decisions. Therefore, this opening class has thus taught me some basic information about
sexuality and now I recognize the need to learn the subject of human sexuality. I was too shy
to speak and learn about sex before I took this class but now I think it is ok to speak out.
In lecture 2, it considered the history of sex. I understood that the abortion used to be
criminal offence and unmarried women could not get contraceptives. I now think that this is
unfair since they need to have right to choose if they want to have baby or not. Also, I learnt
that different countries have different sex history. For example, India has Kama Sutra, and

China has some sexuality books. Thus, in the study of sex history, I can have better
understand of sex and sexuality.
For lecture 3, we discussed about the female’s anatomy. I studied the female body
structure like the vulva that include mons veneris, labia majora, labia minora, sensitive
vaginal introitus and urethra and further the female internal that include vagina, uterus,
cervix, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. I understood that female need to look after their own
body and have a self-examination. In addition to that, I learnt about the Masters and Johnson
four stages i.e. excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution. Here, I did a presentation about
this topic.
During lecture 4, I explored the structure of male body and surveyed both the
circumcised ...
