In-person Mock interview
A mock interview is more or less an emulation of real or actual job interview. This is basically
done for training purposes meaning it does prepare an individual mentally, physically and also
emotionally when you finally face your job interview. Mock interviews usually do give a person
experience. We do have various types of mock interviews and that include; telephone interview,
face to face interview, Skype interview, a video interview and lastly a practice of your
presentation .On this I decided to pick on face to face type of interview because I believe it does
boost confidence.
Professor K. Petra was my interviewer on this day and I was so nervous. I had no idea on the
type of questions she would ask considering the fact that some of the questions asked during
interviews could seem difficult and put you off the hook completely if you are not keen. I walked

I should be hired, what my goals are, why I left my previous job, when I was most satisfied in
my previous job, what I could do for the company that other candidates wouldn’t and lastly if I
were an animal which one I would want to be. My answer on my weaknesses was that I fear
failure though I know vividly that an individual should not fear to fail at times because that’s
what strengthens a person. I had difficulties though on answering what type of animal I would
have liked to be if at all I were one. I had a divided mind between being an eagle and a lion
because both animals have some of the characters I like.
I later found out that I wasn’t badly off in answering the questions as reflected on the mock
interview assessment form though it also stated that there are a few areas I need to work on. I
learnt that I need to be clear on my elaborations; on how I tackle some of the questions and
finally it stated that I should always pay attention throughout the whole interview process
because in several occasions I would ask for a repeat of certain questions. If I work on the li...
