and below 26 years old to register through the process of Selective Service System (Spivack 31).
This will enable the activation of a military draft like the way it was used during the time of
Vietnam War. The armed forces, on the other hand, is always ready in obtaining and recruiting
new members to its forces through voluntary enlistment. Only the male people during that time
were recruited in the military of the US to protect the country against any external attacks.
The Supreme Court in the year 1981 ruled that women do not need to register in the
Selective Service System and so there was no need of drafting them. Due to this, the women
