Classifying Reactions Project.
Question Description
info:
Objectives
Unit 5.12 Portfolio: Classifying Reactions - Directions
Safety Reminder:
Wear safety glasses for all experiments.
- Identify different types of chemical reactions as synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, or double replacement.
- Predict the products of reactions.
- Understand and balance chemical reactions.
Overall Directions:
- There are 4 different activities. For each activity choose to follow the virtual or real life directions when the option is available.
- The answer sheet is separate. At the conclusion of each test, complete the table for that part BEFORE moving on to the next test.
Balancing the equations: remember you will write coefficients IN FRONT of the chemical formula for the compound. If you think an equation is balanced, then write "balanced" in front, at the end, on top, or below of the entire equation.
Visible Signs: your choices for this part are color change, precipitate formation, production of bubbles (gas formation), or heat/light emission.
Reaction type: your choices are single replacement, double replacement, decomposition, or synthesis.
