Thesis Statement: Each minority group held individual interests that determined their
participation and how they choose to participate in a war that was beyond their scope. It is
important to note that neither of the groups had a choice, but instead, they found themselves in a
war between the British and the colonists. Therefore, their participation was varied in every
sense as they tried to survive and remove themselves from a situation that was affecting them.

The participation of the marginalized groups in the civil war was varied. Each group
made its contribution differently, depending on how it affected them and what perspective the
