Evidence-based practice is very vital in the nursing practice in arriving at the ideal
clinical decision in different treatment of the patients. These components are clinical expertise,
clinical research conducted already and the patient values and expectations. The use of the three
mentioned components is essential in giving direction of my PITCO, “in adult patients with large
vessel occlusion, (I) does intra-arterial thrombolysis treatment, (C) as opposed to intravenous
treatment alone (O) improve patient outcomes (T) 90 days’ post-treatment?” as the clinical
question The keywords are; an acute ischemic stroke, large vessel occlusions, intra-arterial
thrombolysis, and hemorrhagic stroke.
