1. Issue

Conspiracy involving drug trafficking gangs corrupting correctional officers in the staterun correction facility is on the rise (Wagner and Wagner, 2018) . The ability of the department to
take punitive action on its officers who have engaged in gross misconduct is a vital element in
the department’s anti-corruption effort. An efficient disciplinary system serves as restraint to
misconducts and communicates to the correctional officers and the public at large that corruption
wont tolerated.
2. Improvement Need
Following the jailing of guards on charges of misconduct and conspiracy of drug traffic a
review was conducted. The review discovered that facility didn’t not have strong anti-corruption
systems and controls in place, thus need to make drastic changes to its policies to ensure issues
