Final Project

As a student in bachelors of general psychology, I focus on becoming competent and
acquire knowledge that will assist in my future profession. Psychology aims at assisting the
people in the society to deal with events and circumstances that cause stress in their daily lives
and those that have emotional effects. The focus on understanding the needs of people in the
community will guide in setting goals and objectives that will see me through the studies and the
profession. I intend to study with an open mind so that I can have a deep understanding of the
psychological needs of the people and how to meet them thus making them successful in their
daily duties. Psychology provides an opportunity to identify most of the challenges that people
face and how they become disoriented so that they cannot handle their lives properly. The
studying will thus give an opportunity to understand the society and what needs to be done to
achieve success in the long run.
Academic goals
As I undertake my studies, the academic goals that will guide me through will include;
Being able to acquire the knowledge base of psychological science- The primary focus of
undertaking the psychological studies is to have an understanding of psychology in general and
how theories and arguments impact on my understanding of the subject (Helms, & Rogers,
2015).
Being proficient in the research methods involved as well as statistics- Throughout the
studies, I will focus on understanding and evaluating the different ways of research and statistics
(Helms, & Rogers, 2015). Proficiency will determine the success of the studies, therefore, the
need to take time in gaining knowledge.

FINAL PROJECT

3

Exhibit sound values and judgment- Psychology requires one to have a deep
understanding of the different factors that may have an impact on the lives of people in the
society.
In achieving the above academic goals, I will have to attend the lectures and get involved
in research throughout the course to learn and understand...
