100-150 Words each of the discussion and cite the sources. Discussion1 Smoking has been linked to many respiratory diseases and many states and businesses have made smoking illegal in public and work places. One reason for the concern in recent years is the increasing evidence that smoking not only affects the smoker, but also those who are exposed to secondhand smoke. E-cigarettes are also quickly replacing tobacco cigarettes and promoted as less hazardous because the carcinogens have been removed. For your discussion post, complete the following: • Should the government go further and ban tobacco products entirely? Why or why not. • Describe the health risks involved with smoking alternatives products like e-cigarettes or smokeless tobacco? The post must be supported by facts and supported by research. It should not only include how you feel, but also acknowledge the sources you do end up using. Discussion2 Immobility can be long-term, for example being paralyzed; short-term, for example wearing a cast; or temporary, for example traveling in a car for several hours. The amount of time a person is immobilized can have an impact on the nervous and muscular systems changing sensations or movement. Share an experience where you have been immobilized and identify what body systems were affected by this immobility. Describe the symptoms you experienced that indicated those body systems were affected. Explain what caused these symptoms. Discussion3 Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in the U.S. but there has been amazing progress in how we treat it through lifestyle changes, medications, and surgery. Complications for cardiac surgery can include acute kidney injury. Treatment options can include the use of anti-inflammatory drugs, for example dexamethasone, to prevent these complications. For your discussion post: • Discuss how acute kidney injury can be a complication of cardiac surgery. • Describe long term effects of the use of anti-inflammatory drugs? Discussion4 Digestion, Urinary, and Endocrine systems are each connected to Diabetes in how a person manages there food intake, regulating blood sugar levels, and the body's way to remove excess sugar through the urine. Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a growing problem for the American population and can be directly related to weight gain and obesity. Diabetes Mellitus diagnoses need to meet certain criteria: • Fasting plasma glucose >= 126 mg/dL; OR • Symptoms (polyuria, polydipsia, weight loss); AND • Random plasma glucose >= 200 mg/dL; OR • A1C >= 6.5% For your discussion post: • Discuss if a person should take action before or after the clinical criteria of Type II Diabetes Mellitus is met? • What other factors can lead to Type II Diabetes Mellitus? • Describe three changes patients can make to prevent or address Type II Diabetes Mellitus?

Explanation & Answer

Hello there,I am attaching to this message a Microsoft Office ( .docx format) file entitled " Discussion 4 Topics " which contains the discussion for each of the 4 topics given by your professor. I tried to not write over 150 words as the request was between 100 to 150 words .After each discussion you have the references used and also in-text citation.Discussion 1 : About E-ciggartes - used a clinical study regarding the risk of cancer and also the effect it has on the cardiovascular system. As requested , i ended with a personal opinion if tobacco products should be banned or not.Discussion 2 : About a situation when you had to be immobilized for a period of time . I took my situation, when i was hospitalized for deep vein thrombosis and had to stay in bed for 3 days on heparin. I included a reference link but you can delete it if you want as i used it only for the terms such as oliguria , orthostatic hypotension and so on . In the end this is a personal story as your professor requested and you might not need any references for it ( in that case just delete the link and it will be fine).Discussion 3: About Acute kidney failure about cardiac surgery . I explained why AKI can occure after surgery and also what are the effects of antiinfalmmatory drugs ( i referred strictly to how it affect the kidney as that it what the topic is about , in case you need general side effects just get back to me and will solve that)Discussion 4 : Regarding Diabetes - I started explaining what is diabetes , what should patients who are in a ...
