The article “Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design” talks about implementation of an
environment that will ensure crimes are prevented so as to improve area quality and minimize
the insecurity sense in the society. According to the author of the article, the project was able to
improve the quality of life in a direct means, recommended establishment of new market public
areas, formation of pedestrian boulevards from streets and ensure increased number of
commercial business. Therefore, this article can be considered as reputable on crime prevention.

The article “Situational crime prevention” begins by analyzing the situations that lead to
particular types of crimes. The authors then introduce the chance of environment and
management as a way of reducing chances of crime occurrences. Therefore, the article
emphasizes on describing the setting of crime and not the actual action of crime. This is to imply
that the article talks more about how crimes occur rather than the sanctioning and detection of
criminals. Moreover, the authors do not suggest a mechanism of eliminating the tendencies of
