Emergency management is a professional way of handling disasters both natural and
human-made with the aim of minimizing risks and exposure of all the stakeholders involved
including the public. September 11, 2001, was a major human-made disaster coming from
terrorist activity. A tragedy usually there is a loss of lives, injuries, and destruction of property.
September 11, remains a historical disaster ever to happen in the United States of America. On
that specific day on a Tuesday four civilian plans commandeered by nineteen terrorists became
moving guided missiles on American soil. The terrorists were part of Al-Qaeda terrorist
networks supported and sponsored by Osama Bin Laden. The planes destroyed the Twin Towers
that housed the World Trade Centre and a third plane damaged part of the American security
nerve center the Pentagon. The last plan is believed not to have reached its destination crashing
on a field in Pennsylvania. The disaster claimed over 3000 lives and over 10,000 people suffered
injuries and burns. The planning of the attacks appears to have taken more than a year to plan.
Some of the key masterminds of the disaster enrolled in commercial flying schools to become
