2x + 2y = 5

2x - y + 6z = 2

The flow of traffic (in vehicles per hour) through a network of streets is show at the right. Solve the system for the traffic flow represented by xi, i = 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

(I have the answers for both: first one (-2a +1.5, 2a + 1, a); second one (x1 = 700 - s - t, x2 = 300 - s - t, x3 = s, x4 = 100 - t, x5 = t) but, I don't know how to do the work to get to the answers.)
