The Human-Computer Interface

timer Asked: Aug 20th, 2013

Question description

  • Critique the following statement by a student: “I don’t think that having a
graphic that represents an interface so the user can manipulate the computer is
ever going to change. Even using voice recognition software, you have to
interact with the PC graphically to make sure you are working properly. I think
what will change is the GUI interface.”

  • Historically, many IT solutions required the application be installed
locally on a computer. But today, with the client being GUI, applications can be
accessed via a Web browser, thus making remote access more efficient. What are
the implications to the development of GUIs?
