Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses
One role of the constitution is to protect individuals and community at large from actions
which may be seen inhuman. One of the main provisions of the constitution is the right to be
subjected to the Due Process of the Law as well as being accorded Equal Protection. Entrenched
in the Fifth Amendment and the Fourteenth Amendment, the Due Process Clause, and the Equal
Protection Clause respectively restrict the actions of the Federal Government against the
community as well as individuals. According to Chen (2016), the “due process” clause refers to
fair procedures and the protection of rights not necessarily provided for by the constitution. The
