According to performance indicators, effective teams are associated with high performance compared to personnel working individually (Karmakar & Paneerselvam, 2014). Especially any areas that require high-pressure multiple skill sets are often expected. Building an effective team requires various skills and strategies that are aimed at ensuring that one has the appropriate team composition. While establishing an effective time one of the critical areas is building strong leadership. To achieve all the laid down goals and objectives in every organization, the subordinates, and all the other members must have confidence in the respective leader. According to Karmakar & Paneerselvam (2014), one of the crucial steps in building a competent team is the adoption of the required leadership skills. This will enable the team members to work efficiently even when the leader is not around. For every type of organization, each member has their role that is delegated according to the respective functional areas. Since the leader is not always around some functions such as supervisory are necessary. The task above is usually delegated to some staff that is expected to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Another critical functional area in a team is conflict resolution (Karmakar & Paneerselvam, 2014). Amongst the group, there should always be a person who is entitled to the responsibility to resolve any conflicts fairly. The main reason for having such a duty is to reduce instances whereby conflicts can cause significant disruptions to the team. 3 BUILDING EFFECTIVE TEAMS After establishing effective leadership, the next step is building a good relationship amongst members of the team. As a leader in the group, one must have prior knowledge of the different character traits possessed by each team member. This experience is of great importance since it will assist in providing a clear understanding of the particular expert knowledge possessed by each in the group (Beebe & Masterson, 2014). After having prior knowledge of each member’s expert knowledge, the information will be used during delegation. Delegation according to an individual’s expertise knowledge improves job satisfaction typically. Also, after delegating any work as a leader, one must ensure that particular instructions accompany each task assigned. This will ensure that members of the team perform their duty to perfection. According to research, human beings usually perform well in areas which they have expert knowledge. The success of a team can be measured by the manner in which each member of the group performs their task towards the common laid goals and objective. Also, each member of the winning team is usually geared towards the achievement of the vision and mission of the team. A successful team regularly reviews its progress each time and designs new measures to achieve the respective goals outlined. As a team continues to grow the leader must be able to build a friendly relationship and a strong bond amongst members (Beebe & Masterson, 2014). This can be done through continuously monitoring the manner in which members in the team work together. Also, the leader must always design ways to improve cooperation and communication amongst individuals. If there are any conflicts within the group, he must try to resolve them amicably. The leader must always listen to both sides before resolving any dispute. Moreover, through strategies such as brainstorming solutions from members of the team new solutions that are acceptable to all members can be obtained. 4 BUILDING EFFECTIVE TEAMS After building a good relationship amongst members of the team, improving teamwork is very essential. This can be done through continuous encouragement on members on the benefits of sharing vital information amongst themselves. Building an efficient team involves typically building utmost trust amongst individuals (Liu et al., 2014). This can be achieved through designing forums whereby members can meet and interact socially. During such forums, members should be allowed to offer various suggestions that they think could improve the status quo of the team. Finally, after improving teamwork amongst the members of the team, the leader should design rules and regulations that are to be followed. For every type of organization, rules and regulations must be outlined to ensure efficiency in operations. The primary objective of designing laws is to reduce conflicts amongst individuals. Before the standards are articulated the leader should ensure that, all members are involved. The respective rules should be designed in open forums whereby each member should be allowed to give their suggestion (Beebe & Masterson, 2014). Once the specific regulations obtain articulation, various penalties should be laid down for every rule. This will provide a clear outline of the disciplinary actions to be imposed on members who break them. The success of a team is usually attributed to the manner in which the laid down policies are followed to the latter. Hence, the leader of the group should ensure that members who break the rules are dealt with according to the laid down rules. 5 BUILDING EFFECTIVE TEAMS References Beebe, S. A., & Masterson, J. T.
