Exposition
This play is largely depicts feminism enforcing the idea of women’s power. It shows how
women strive to manipulate the people around them in order to get what they want, and they are
successful in doing so. Hedda Gabler is a new wife to George Tessman and they return home
after their honeymoon. She is an elegant and beautiful lady with sophisticated style and living.
Soon George will be a professor. George gives Hedda his old slippers he loves but she rejects.
This does not seem good as a couple because she should appreciate her husband’s memories.
Conflict
Hedda tries to be friendly with Mrs. Elvsted to get information about Eilbert Lavborg. She finds
out that Mrs.Elvsted eloped with Eilbert but there is a lady from the past he cannot forget. The
situation gets worse when judge Brack visits and points out the likely competition between
George and Eilbert. Interestingly, Mrs. Elvsted is distraught and has left her husband. Eilert
could start drinking again; On the other hand, the Judge also wants Hedda while George has to
compete for his professorship. Hedda finds herself in a scary penchant for her pistols.

Rising action

Mrs Hedda does not love the fact that she will live forever with her husband. She openly admits
it to Judge Brack at his second visit. She calls his talk boring and the honeymoon lonely because
their preferences are different. The fact that George is an archivist does not make her happy and
her marriage to him it’s because he was available. Judge Brack shows his interest in being the
third person in the boring marriage. Aunt Rita gets seriously sick.
Climax

The play hits its climax when Hedda burns Eilert's manuscript/brain-child showing her
