Introduction
Innovation is very significant in the market today whether a company is operating on an
international or local market. In fact, innovation becomes more of concern for foreign firms as
asserts Leonard (2011) because there are many companies competing for the same market and at
the same time there are other emerging companies. The importance of innovation is because the
global market is competitive, new generations are emerging with new interests, and there is a
need for new ideas. As such, it is significant that a company like Pepsi Company should consider
developing new division with a product that can ensure that the company keeps up with the
global competition. In this discourse, a proposal for Pepsi Co to establish a new company
division that will deal with an energy drink is proposed. This plan is aimed at making the
company open up and attract a new population and further to expand their product line.

The world today is a busy society, and in some cases, some people are working for more
than 5 hours in a day doing several shifts in different working places. While this population
desire to keep working, not all of them prefer coffee as a drink to keep them rejuvenated,
therefore, it is advised that Pepsi Co should consider starting a new product that will be an
energy drink. While developing this new product, the mission statement that would be relevant
would be: “to refresh and energize the working world.” (Pepsico, n.d). This mission statement
would be appropriate since this new product would focus on the consumers and it would aim at
