1. Many radical groups tend to be the subject of groupthink. Many racist, misogynistic, cultist, and radical political groups barely ever take other opposing opinions into consideration as it would not fit their narrative. It is least likely to be a problem if the people that reside within the group have little biases or maybe even different opinions amongst themselves about certain things. The effects of groupthink involve poor decision making without properly evaluating the potential results and outcomes of the decision, possibly leading to a disaster of some sort. In order to combat the effects of groupthink, members in a group need to think of literally every possible outcome of the decisions they make. Leave biases and desperation aside and really think about what will happen if they take the course of action they are planning.

2. Group think will most likely become a problem when the group has a similar way of thinking. When ideas are shared it will become more of an echo chamber and not a idea sharing session. And when everyone is always "on the same page", no new ideas can be heard. When the group is comprised of people who think differently, and have different points of views, different backgrounds, and even different demographics will help to eliminate the group think phenomenon.

Some of the effects of group think include the resistance to change culture found in many workplaces. The "we have always done it this way" and "this usually is best" kind of thinking can dominate a group and others may not wish to go against the culture that is resistant to change. You can help to combat this by always playing the devils advocate or by inviting members to the discussion group whom you know have the opposite opinions and different approaches to problem ssolving that you do. It may frustrate you, but you may get a better solution in the end.

3. Groupthink is a pattern of biased decision making that occurs in groups of people who are more interested in reaching a unanimous decision rather than accurately assessing information, which can cause faulty decision making. This is most likely to be a problem in groups that lack diversity and critical thinking. When a group is made up of people from similar walks of life, then most likely all those people think similarly so the group lacks an opposing side. In order for an accurate decision to be made, the information must be analyzed from many different perspectives. A group consisting of members of all ages, races, and genders would be less likely to have this issue. One way to ward off groupthink would be to split the group up and assign different sides of the argument to each group and have everyoe support their respective arguments. This way, the group could look at the issue at hand and make a calculated decision based on all the information.
