TECHNOLOGY AND ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR

Introduction
Organization culture forms the basis of change in any organization. According to Alvesson
and Syningson (2015), culture is seen as either the key thing to be changed or something that is
crucial to take seriously in order to make change possible. Organizational change involves
changing the technologies, systems, structures, knowledge, social relations and power relations
and may take place at micro, business, and macro level. At the micro level, a department or
workstations may change on how conflicts are addressed or the group organizations while at the
business level a company may change its communication networks. In the macro level, an
organization may make changes such as change of industry and the corporate ownership. Since
change is inevitable an organization in the current market should have a defined but flexible culture
in order to improve productivity and maintain market relevance. A change in the organizational
technology may influence new working practices such as employees working at home which may,
in turn, result in the development of new products due to flexibility. According to Alvesson and
Syningson (2015), it is difficult to imagine a culture as a separate and distinct activity without any
effect on strategy, structure and other management control systems. This is not different in the
container glass manufacturing organization.
The Organizational culture
One major organizational culture is the production of high-quality products that sell at local
and international markets. Quality production is everybody's responsibility and all employees work
to produce glass containers that meet the market specifications. Products that possess the minimum
specifications are highly disregarded and chemical analysis and physical inspections are done at
all stages of the production process. The quality department is made of highly trained workers who
inspect the product at all levels and ensure that they are within the highest set standards. The
organization invests a lot in research in order to improve the quality of the product hence the
language of all departments is quality.
Another major culture of the organization is customer satisfaction at all levels. The
organization has an extensive sales representatives and customer care networks and the
responsibility of satisfaction is purely in the organization. The organization creates confidence to
the users that the products produced are of high quality and the organization intensively work to
meet the continuously changing customer’s needs. In all the operations of the organizations the
