Summary and Response Instructions
Why do I assign Summary and Responses?
I assign them so that I have a way to know you have done the reading/listening/viewing and
have conscientiously interacted with the material (article, podcast, and/or video).
Why do the Summary and Responses have to be in a particular format?
In your working lives, you will have supervisors who will ask you to analyze and summarize
materials. Most of the time, these supervisors will want your analysis in a particular format so
that when they read your analysis, they can go right to the area they need information on in
that moment. In addition, someday you will be supervisors of people who do analyses for you
and you will appreciate them being done in a format that works for your team and you.
Required Format
There needs to be three (3) sections, each with their own heading: Introduction, Summary, and
Response.
In the Introduction section, you should say who created the material you are analyzing, who
published the material, and a general statement about what the material is about.
In the Summary section, you are to write about at least four (4) main points from the material.
In the Response Section, you are to state why you think the material relates to the main theme
of the course. You are also to respond to at least one of the four points you wrote about in your
Summary section. You are also supposed to comment on whether the material analyzed was
either beneficial or a waste of time and then tell me why you have chosen your response.
Length
These Summary and Responses should be no more than 350 words.
Grading
If your Summary and Response is not in the right format, you will get a zero. Each assignment
outside of the quizzes are worth only a few points but the zeroes can add up.
If you don’t follow the rest of the instructions, you will only be eligible for partial credit.

Miami Dade College What Wollstonecraft means in her Statement Essay
he first act (called ACT FIRST, pages 1-18) of A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen, written in 1879 (so around the same period as Kate Chopin's work). Ibsen is Norway's most well-known author. He was a playwright, and his plays, which are set in his native Norway, are still regularly performed around the world today. A Doll's House is one of his most famous works and has had a lasting impact. Because it's a play, what you'll be reading is dialog and stage directions. It's similar to reading a movie script. After completing Act 1 of the play, watch the short video below for some useful background info and then read the introduction (pages 4-7) of Mary Wollstonecraft's A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.Respond to the following questions.
In her introduction, Wollstonecraft (2017) states, “I dismiss those pretty feminine phrases that the men condescendingly use to make our slavish dependence easier for us” (p. 5). What does Wollstonecraft mean by this, and how does it relate to A Doll’s House? Find and quote at least three examples of Torvald Helmer “condescendingly” using “feminine phrases” when talking about his wife, Nora.
How do you feel about Nora and Torvald's relationship? What about Nora and Christina's relationship?
What is the significance of the forbidden macaroons that Nora likes to eat?
What does Krogstad threaten Nora with and why? What do you think will ultimately happen to Nora in this story?

Disaster Resilience: A National Imperative, book review
Provide an approximate 1500-word document analyzing important concepts in the readings. Assume that you are writing for an uninformed reader that knows nothing about the topic and has not read what you read. Provide an introduction that gives the background of the resource that you are reviewing, so the reader will understand what they're reading and why. Include the following topics in this week's discussion: - Is 'Disaster Resilience' a 'National Imperative'? Why or why not? Should it be? - What are the drivers that make resilience important and urgent? - What is the concept of 'managing risk'? - What are some of the challenges to decision-making that enhances resiliency? How would progress be measured? - What are some of the strategies and skills required to build resilience within a community? - How does politics influence resiliency? - Describe the federal framework that is meant to enhance resiliency. DO
NOT list out the topics or questions and answer them. They are not
meant to be all-inclusive, and your reader will not understand the
context. Rather, give an overview of the author's entire body of work,
using the topics as guidelines. Ensure that you meet or exceed the
1500-word target, and that your paper meets APA presentation
requirements.
