Question description

Describe the behavior of someone you do not know well, and explain why this person did/does this behavior? Does your explanation reflect the fundamental attribution error? Why or why not? Was this person acting according to the expectations of others, even without knowing it? If so, identify any expectations of others that this person’s behavior was fulfilling or confirming. Next, imagine yourself doing the same thing that this person did, and explain why you would act this way. Does your explanation of your behavior and that of the other person you described reflect the ‘actor-observer difference? Why or why not? Explain how the fundamental attribution error is important to the psychological functioning of individuals and society. Also indicate any social problems that knowledge of this error might help to explain or solve.
