Health Promotion- Gestational Diabetes
Epidemiological Rationale
Gestation diabetes is high blood sugar which is experienced during pregnancy but
disappears after delivery. The disorder can be experienced at any stage of pregnancy although it is
more prevalent during the second half. This condition is experienced when the body fail to produce
enough insulin which is responsible in controlling the levels of blood sugar to meet the
requirements during pregnancy (DeSisto, Kim & Sharma, 2014). This disorder can result to

women with early diagnosis of gestational diabetes during the first half of their pregnancy, which
demonstrate a high risk subgroup. Women with gestational diabetes may experience hypertensive
disorder during their pregnancy and afterwards. Epidemiological statistics demonstrates that there
is an association between the type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and several high risk
prediabetic. The resistance of insulin is considered patho...
