Question 3
Describe all the structures that blood passes through as it travels between the aorta

The first structure is represented by the arteries which carry oxygenated blood from the heart to
all the parts of the body. The next ones are the arterioles which have a smaller diameter and they
combine in order to create the capillaries network. The capillaries are considered the
microcirculation and they are essential for the exchange of nutrients and collection of waste. All
these elements then go to the venules which drain in larger vessels called veins. Veins are the last
formation and they carry the deoxygenated form of blood. From here the blood will be sent to the
lungs in order to be purified so the cycle can restart.
