The favorite character for this essay is Sir Gawain, who was an Arthurian legend and also
a hero of romance. Gawain is perhaps one of the leading figures that portrayed unique prowess
and possessed such traits as being a villain, being noble and honest, (Mann & Rasmussen, 2014,
p. 221). The text “Sir Gawain and The Green Knight” brings out Sir Gawain as a good knight
and this is illustrated by a series of traits that reveal who Sir Gawain was and the roles he played
in the act. As well, his character helps in developing values and universal themes besides
showing how literature reflects the society, culture, place and history.
