The war in Yugoslavia has been inclined to the basis of ethnic and national identities, which are
key ideas that were fronted by former communist leaders such as Slobodan Milosevic who turned
into fierce nationalists fronting differences based on ethnic identity within the country. Individuals
from different ethnic groups within the country had initially lived together before strong
nationalists movement. The background of the Yugoslavia is based on their strong religious
affiliations to Muslim and Christianity, which was mainly Roman Catholic. Despite the fact that
these religious groups have adverse differences between them, they managed to live peacefully
before the strong fronting of nationalist ideas. The Muslims in Yugoslavia were initially Christians
who practiced a controversial type of Christianity considered by other Christians as being heresy.
Before the war broke out in 1990, the census that had been done indicated that 36% of the
population were Serbs and 20% Croats. The other majority groups were Muslims with 9%.
During the World War II, the power exchanged between the Croat and Serbs where Croatia became
a subject of Hitler Empire and committed significant atrocities against the Serbs, which created
