Drug addiction often changes a person behavior, which in turn, affects all the aspect of
their social lives in the society. A rehabilitation center helps patients to regain a normal life
safely and healthily. The journey to the achievement of a sober life is not an easy, and quick one
hence requires a lifelong commitment to dedication and hard work. In a prison setting, most of
the inmate gets compelled by the court to go through rehabilitation. Thus, the treatment center
can carry the stigma that patients are forced to stay. However, the efforts of the transformation
are worth it and have an immeasurable reward that requires patients to develop the desire for the
treatment to remain effective. The specific steps of a person’s addiction rehabilitation process
often vary according to the type of addiction, the treatment plan used, and the person seeking the
rehab (Colker, 2004). Nevertheless, almost all recovery process tends to share the same recovery
and treatment elements including detoxification, Intensive Inpatient Treatment, Intensive
Outpatient Treatment, Aftercare, Psycho-educational Groups, and Psychopharmacology.
Detoxification is a concept and treatment method, which involve getting rid of harmful or
potentially damaging substances like alcohol and drug from the body. It remains based on the
idea that addiction can get caused by the accumulation of the toxic substances in the body. Drug
