In the last assessment (third assessment), the aim was to refine the problem statement.
The refined statement is the management’s commitment to Total Quality Management process. It
emerged that the commitment of the management need to be strengthened and resolute actions
need to be taken within specified time to ensure that safety and quality issues concerning
automobiles are acted on. Upon implementing the requirement Toyota can then be among the
leading automobiles globally. In this case, the assessment performs a more in-depth analysis of
Toyota’s TQM with the focus largely being on the measurement strategies in place (Toyota
Corporation, n.d). The paper will start by researching the potential means and ways of measuring
the specific process. While doing this, focus will be on qualitative and quantitative
measurements. The items that each measurement captures will be reviewed. What improvement
look like according to the measurement is discussed and the kind of information needed to
employ the measurement is discussed too.
