INTRODUCTION
Scott Fitzgerald’s life begun on 24thof September in the year 1896 in Minnesota at St Paul. He
was born from an Irish woman Mary McMullan who was a wholesale grocery and Edward
Fitzgerald who was a salesman at Procter and Gamble. Scott is described as a bright and an
ambitious boy who first printed his piece of writing at the age of thirteen. After graduating joined
Princeton University to perfect his writing skills but it his desire for writing compromised his
course work. This led him to dropping school in the year 1917.He dropped out of school and
joined the United States Army. Scotts was promoted to a second lieutenant and deployed to
Camp Sheridan in Alabama where he met and married Zelda and later returned to St. Paul to
perfect in writing (Meyers & Jeffrey 2-4). Among his well-known novels include, The Great
Gatsby, The Beautiful and Damned and Tender Is the Night. Most of his work is said to have
been influenced by his personal life experience. For example:

makes Gatsby to over indulge in parties and neglects her lover Daisy for other women and
