SECTION 2:
Operation Strategy
With coca cola being the largest firm in the soft drink industry, the company uses
operation strategy that has enabled it to remain competitive in the current business environment.
For example, the company operates globally, and in those nations where it operates, it does so on
a local scale in every community. This operation strategy is good not only for Coca-Cola
company but also for other companies operating in the international market. Ideally, coke
company has benefited a lot from this strategy. When a firm operating globally narrows down its
operation into a local scale operation in the various communities, the company engages the local
community in a good way, and this boosts customers base as well as creating customer loyalty
(Miller, 1998). This is exactly what the coca cola company does. In fact, the firm has been able
to remain as the leading beverage company in the soft drink industry for long due to this strategy
competing favorably with its main competitor Pepsi.
Additionally, coca cola company invests heavily in its business which is another
operation strategy. For example, the organization knows that for it to remain the best soft drink
firm in the world, it has to invest in its brand. As such, the company has been investing in
marketing as well as increasing both the quality and quantity of advertising. As such, the
company has been able to inform its customers across the world of the various changes in the
company and new products. The importance of this operation strategy is that the company
ensures that consumers are well informed about its operations and products. To compete in the
international market requires a company to invest in marketing and advertising. This is because
these are areas which make the product or service known to the world.

Key Operations, Processes and Structure
Coca-cola company has many key processes and operations which makes the firm remain
competitive and operational in the global market. For example, sports sponsorship has been one
of the main operations of the company. Coke company values sports, and through it, the firm has
been able to market its product across the world. For instance, coca cola brand is associated with
football as many football events across the world have at one point been sponsored by the
company. A good example is the world cup where coke company was the main sponsor.
Through the sponsorship, there is passing of information to customers across the world. Such a
process brings the brand close to people all over the world as they can see the images as well as
appealing to all classes of people in the society. Sustainability is another operation of the
company (Lambert, 2009). The firm ensures it is sustainable and relevant in its market across the
world through making sure that the raw materials are available.
Besides, the company uses employees with high level of expertise as well as using
compensation methods which not only help to retain workers but also attract top-notch
employees. Through this, the firm ensures that it does not at any period lack workforce. When it
comes to processes, production is the main process that takes place in the company. Ideally,
production of the different types of soft drinks has been the main process which is undertaken by
employees with high skills and knowledge....
