Tuberculosis is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.



This bacteria spread through the air when an individual with TB sneezes, coughs, laughs, spits, or talks



The Mycobacterium tuberculosis normally affects the lungs, though it also affects other parts of the body



The life cycle of Mycobacterium tuberculosis starts as it enters into the human body through the lungs.



The Mycobacterium tuberculosis is then taken up by the macrophages where it actually multiplies before

spreading throughout the lymphatic system.
