- Causative Agent: Describe and classify the microbe involved. If known, explain how the microbe causes/transmits the disease or interferes with normal body function. Also, describe the vector and/or life cycle for the microbe (if applicable).
- Population(s) affected: What population(s) is/are at highest risk of contracting the disease? Are there any groups of people who should be tested? Tuberculosis is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

This bacteria spread through the air when an individual with TB sneezes, coughs, laughs, spits, or talks

The life cycle of Mycobacterium tuberculosis starts as it enters into the human body through the lungs.

spreading throughout the lymphatic system.
Population(s) affected
• The population that is at risk of contracting tuberculosis are infants, children, and persons
infected with HIV.
• The data from Center for Disease Control (CDC) indicate that about one-fourth of the global
population is suffering from tuberculosis.
• Around 10.4 million individuals were infected with TB worldwide in 2016 while 1.7 million
deaths were TB-related.
