Neuromancer by William Gibson is a novel that presents the world as a society that relies
fully on technology. The novel presents the future of Gibson as one in which the Society feeds on
technology. He presents the world in which the connection to technology is the source of life and
happiness. The author has built the plot on a group of computer hackers in the cyberspace he is
referring to as ‘Cyberspace cowboy’. The novel represents one profound cowboy Case who had
been poisoned by his former boss following stealing from him.
The case had received the best training by Pauley and Armitage through Molly offers him
treatment in return for his hacking services. Armitage assigns Case and his group an assignment
to steal a ROM module which contains a saved consciousness of Pauley who was Case's Mentors
The Rom construct is stored in the in the headquarters of media conglomerate Sense/Net a mission
that Case succeeds and his health is restored. Upon this restoration Case is happy and he identifies
another phase of his life. The only way in which Case would be happy is when he is able to live in
the alternate reality which involved moving past the physical world into a virtual reality.
Discussion
Case delight in an alternate reality of the cyberspace matrix demonstrates him being in a
cave where he perceives the world technology only through hacking. When he accomplished the
assignment given to him and his health restored Case is happy and his life is established. “And
