Analysis: Influencer Study
This activity will enhance your understanding of analytics and how they determine the
effectiveness of your campaigns by teaching you how to measure the engagement of your
competitors or influencers social media campaigns.
At its core, Social Media Analytics are not a thing - or noun, they are an action - or verb. Think
of it as something you DO to measure what other people are doing in REACTION to what others
do. There are three key performance indicators, or KPI’s, in social media that you don’t need a
special tool to measure.
1. Likes/shares
2. Replies and comments
3. Clicks your content earns
HOWEVER, please demonstrate you know how to use a tool such as the following:
Social Blade

FanPageKarma
Using the influencers and competitors you highlighted in week 1 and 2, measure all three of the
above Key Performance Indicators for all of their posts in the last week and answer the
following prompts. (I used Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter)
1. What were their most effective posts and why? Include screen captures of the posts
and/or links.
2. What can you learn from this information about how you will or should post?
3. How could you engage them in a way that adds value and contributes to the
engagement already happening naturally on their social media campaign. How could
you create an ally or develop a relationship with these influencers using your social
media or theirs?

Platform Specific Story
The graphic and web designer market of late has been diluted by the so many approaches
that people embrace to design things, articles and even objects by themselves. Despite
this, the profession of graphics and web design has witnessed massive growth and global
recognition. There has been an increase in the number of enrolments in the graphics and
web designing courses, however, just like any other growing market, there are many
setbacks that are dragging down the graphics and web design profession. Among the
challenges are; increased competition and job saturation, many people wanting to be web
designers, gig economy as well as crowdsourcing. Top three website that I perceive as
threats in terms of competition are; Together We Served, Rallypoint and Hire a Hero that
is; www.togetherweserved.com, www.rallypoint.com, and www.hireahero.com (Essner,
2012).
TOGETHER WE SERVE: www.togetherweserve.com
I have chosen twitter and Facebook and Instagram as the social media I use this is
because Together We Served has made use of these two social media sites. The website
is used to unite more U. For Together We Serve, a buffer can be said to be the Social
Media management tools that they use. A buffer is among the social media management
tool that is used to post the same content on three different social media platforms. Buffer
saves on the time used in posting, as a marketer, it is important to use same content like
words when passing across to your audience and in my case, my audience is military
families. With the increasing number of their followers across their social media platforms,
engaging the military audience is very beneficial since they are able to read articles online
or they can both download and go through later at their own convenience time.
HIRE A HERO: www.hireahero.org.uk
A second website I perceive to give me competition is the hire a hero website. Hire a hero
acts a networking platform for former servicemen and women. It advocates for the
employment rights of the ex-military service people by finding and giving them
opportunities to get a job so as to continue sustaining themselves and their families as
well. The hire a hero website helps to connect former military people who would like to be
given an employment opportunity. There are many instances where you will find that the
ex-servicemen and women are left with no employment opportunities and that is where
the hire a hero website comes in. the hire a hero website makes use of three social media
platforms which are Twitter, Facebook, and even Instagram to address their military
audience. Buffer as a social media management tool is also used in this website as it
helps in posting same content like same exact words on a picture or portrait and this
keeps their audience engaged (Batrinca & Treleaven, 2015).Their Facebook page is more
engaging than the other two social media platforms. They are also quick to respond to
their audience through all their social media platforms.
Rallypoint: www.rallypoint.com
Without a doubt, Rallypoint is another military website that would pose a threat in form of
competition. Rallypoint website has a login option for members so as to access the
information updated or posted on the website. Detailed member information is posted on
the websites for easy accessibility. The login button ensures that only members and the
right audience are the ones who get the information. It gives the military audience a
deeper insight of what is going on in terms of military activities. It has military data that
can be accessed by the members. It recognizes the unique challenges that military men
and women face while in a line of duty. Still, buffer social media management tool is used
to pass their contents on their posts (Batrinca & Treleaven, 2015). The Rallypoint
websites have embraced the use of Twitter, Facebook, and even Instagram to
communicate to their increasing military audience; the three social media platforms that I
have also embraced. The number of military audiences using Rallypoint websites has
been on the increase of late.
I need a post for the attached instructions. The statement below is also directly from the attachment.
I have attached my competitors in the second attachment.

LinkedIn Adam Sendler

Though my competitor hasn’t been active on his LinkedIn page for a very long time, I used his
existing posts and evaluated their success. His most successful post was a post asking for advice on
a hotel logo he was creating. Asking for advice got him 1 like and 17 comments. This post was
successful in getting a dialog started. Interactivity can lead to more followers. People like to feel like
the experts in their field, asking for help is a great way to get people involved in your posts. Adam’s
post reminds me that it’s ok to ask for help, and in the case of social media, it’s actually extremely
beneficial.
Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/denispitter_bookcovers/?hl=en
My Competitor on Instagram, Denis Pitter, is extremely consistent with his posts. He keeps adding
more and more content to keep people interested in following him. He posts nice clean images of the
book covers that he creates. He uses a lot of Hashtags so he can get more attention for his
post. According to SocialBlade, His last post on 8/15, has been his most successful to date. He
obtained 34 extra followers and accumulated 12 comments. This post was successful because he
keeps building an audience with consistency and attractive images. What I learned from Denis is the
need for consistency. Denis’s audience is building because he keeps them interested.
Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/lisa.rosa.7330763
My Competitor on Facebook, Lisa Rosa, has also not posted lately, so I looked at her older posts. I
was also unable to use an analytic tool because she does not have a company page, only a
personal profile. However, I did notice that she got the most attention with a post of a Photoshop
tutorial. This post got her 27 likes. Tutorial links are a great way to get attention because you are
giving your audience information that can be helpful to them. Used consistently, this would be a
great way to make sure that your audience finds your page valuable and continues to return. As a
graphic designer, I understand the appeal of a cool tutorial. Seeing how well this post performed for
Lisa has made me hopeful that if I continue to post informative posts, the audience will follow.
From this exercise, I have learned the importance of asking for advice or help, the need for
consistency, and the value of informative posts. All of these things can help me to have more
success with my social media. With all of my competitors, It would be helpful to follow them,
comment and like their posts, and share their content with others. This way I’m helping to build their
audience, and through collaboration, they can help me do the same for mine.
