Description

Reinforcing Learning With Change

Reflecting on the earlier discussion of the use of cognitive performance-enhancing drugs by someone with a healthy brain, do you think that expectations about memory, learning, and problem-solving can affect cognitive performance?

Think of an area of your personal or professional behavior that you would like to change. Use your understanding of intelligence and metacognition to help you make some reinforcements for change in this area.

  • Describe a learning experience related to your behavioral target area. Make sure to elaborate on the learning goals and any associated desired changes in behavior.
  • Identify reinforcers you would use to help stay on track.
  • Predict how behavior patterns, thoughts, and feelings may change after the learning experience.

Reinforcing Learning with Change
Depending on the length taken when dealing with cognitive performance-enhancing drugs, different
expectations’ intensity can affect cognitive performance. This is based on the fact that, when a person is
stressed to a certain limit, their response is directly proportional to the effort they are making to handle that
stress.
In my case, dealing with overdue deadlines is a major behavioural factor. As such, I tend to work out in
identifying the key causes of my lateness. This helps me make out and plan a framework which helps me
compensate on the lost time. To help me attain my goals, I avoid losing more time. This I do by concentrating
fully on the delayed or late task. I check my schedule and do away with any unnecessary plans or activities.
This in turn gives me more time to concentrate and elevate my efforts towards recovering the lost time
With time, through enough exercise, patterns in behaviour can change. This is related to the fact that the mind
will train itself to switch back in line when things start going astray. That way, a person will realize a certain
behavioural change before it actually happens and elevate from it.
