The book of Ruth talks about the struggles that Ruth has in life and how she finally
overcame them. After Ruth’s husband dies, she vows to stick with Naomi and go wherever she
does. Naomi and Ruth move back to Bethlehem but things are not so easy. Ruth has to spend her
time gleaning in the barley fields. She later meets Boaz who after some time they get married
and it is happy ending for her. The book of Ruth was written during a time of judges, a time
when there were moral degeneracy and religion. During this time Israel and Moab were in
peaceful terms. The story of Ruth takes place in two different locations, mainly the city of
Bethlehem and the other in Moab (Korpel, 2001). Most of the time that Moab is brought up in
the Bible is only to show how terrible of a place it is as compared to the other cities such as
