People usually have different opinion and impression about other individuals on what is
known as person perception. People also engage in the process of perception and judgment
where they make sense about the social world which is known as social cognition. Through
social psychology, it enables people to process information and judge other people either
positively or negatively. Development of perception about other individuals require personal
observation about them or getting second-hand information. Through social psychology, it
enables an individual to perceive other leading to judgments of traits and dispositions. We
usually come across many people who are familiar or strangers to us and through relating with
them people typically develop a different perception of them based on their social cognition.
