Long-term memory
I experienced long-term memory loss a few years ago when I was involved in a car
accident. I wasn’t able to remember how, when or where the accident happened. Few hours after
I regained consciousness I was able to differentiate different nurses and doctors who attended me.
Three-store memory theory was forth put by Atkinson and Shiffrin (1968) who stated that memory
consisted of three stores: sensory register, short-term memory, and long-term memory.
Information is first captured by sensory organs and enters the sensory memory. I could recognize
