The presentation should discuss the student’s analysis of a TV series of her/his choice focusing on the meaning they created.
The presentation should focus on the below elements: ( Each and every point should be given its own slide or explained and mentioned carefully. ) ( Below each slide in the notes , everything should be written carefully in terms of what to say)
- Explain what you gained back from following investing time and perhaps many resources in attending to this content. Reflect on the economic equation.
- Conduct analysis of the most important elements in the TV show including
- 1. language
- 2. image
- 3. editing
- 4. sound effect
- 5. lighting
- 6. cadre.. and how all of these elements lead to the creation of certain interpretation/s.
For the past six points each one has to be on a slide and include a clip from the series.
- How real is the content of your production?
- Identify real and unreal (fantasy) portrayals of performers, characters and events?
- What appears as everyday reality?
- What are the elements that exceed our everyday reality?
- How did the producer work on the audience sense of reality to get their attention?
- Reflect on the ways in which you could identify with one of the characters? The reasons for identification and limitations on it?
- How far did the TV series followed the general story formula?
- Analyze your own social position (role and place) and its impact on your understanding of the production (social class, age, gender, income, ethnicity, ideological orientation, etc.)
Criteria for evaluation: be sure to follow this !!
- Engaging 5-7 minutes presentation, presented on time, includes multiple analytical skills and outstanding in detail and brings in-depth analysis of the production and its messages. Presents a profound reflection on the personal economic game (personal rewards) from this production. In-depth discussion of aspects of reality and fantasy and on the ability to identify with the character. An excellent use of classroom (Media literacy) terminology and learned analytical skills in which the presenter responds to all of the above questions.
Remember that you get to messages through the media that you cannot get to know through your real life.
