Dale Carnegie spent a better part of his early career life offering training courses to adults. He
majorly taught public speaking but later on changed his teaching system and came up with a new
method that included public speaking, applied psychology, salesmanship and human relations.
This was because he realized that as much as the adults who came to him had to pass in their
interviews, they deserved to get promotions in those jobs, and at some point, they had to be in
charge, and that meant they had to get along with their colleagues. Those who could corporate and
work in unity with their colleagues stood a chance of getting the best offers possible in their jobs.
They could easily influence others and take charge of various situations. The issue of relations
comprises social contacts that people have. Dale Carnegie says that “relations is the act of getting
along with people in everyday business and social contacts.” The main reason why the book was
written was that Carnegie wanted to “discover a working handbook on human relations.” There
was an increasing demand by people to know how they could improve their relationship with
others and influence them to believe their ideas. The book explores a variety of principles that a
person can follow to win the trust and friendship of others. The act of influencing people is also
covered broadly in this book. In everyday life, it is always to have friends wherever one is. Being
a social being does not allow a person to stay in isolation. The early steps in friendship may prove
difficult to some people especially when one moves to a place where they know nobody. The
principles outlined in this book offer a working guideline on how to go about such a situation. The
ability to influence people is also handy in everyday life. Various professions usually offer
