As Douglas Richardson stated, many textbooks and sources on resumes talk about how to write an effective resume, but "most do not explain how your resume is read." Read "Susie the Screener" and listen to the podcast titled, "Your Resume Stinks" and answer the questions below.

1. What new information did you learn about resume writing?

2. Do you agree with everything in Richardson's article or do you think that Richardson is exaggerating?

3. What are some of the differences between the information presented in the "Your Resume Stinks" podcast, Richardson's article, and your textbook (give at least 4, making sure to review all sources)? What one new thing will you incorporate into your own resume and why?

RESUME WRITING

A resume is a summary of one's experience and educational background especially when
one is looking for a job or employment at a particular business, organization or company. I
learned that in resume writing what the employer is seeking from you is what you can offer them
and not what you have achieved through your previous employment. They do not wish to hear
you brag or say what the job can do for you for they are more interested in what you can do for
them. The resume should also be in past participle and include a short, precise, detailed
information about your previous employment. These will serve as evidence that you are capable
of handling the job offer that you are applying....
