The United States of America was until the dawn of World War II an embodiment of
isolation and little participation or involvement in the strifes and disputes that faced her
neighbouring states. She relied on Isolation policies to retain stability. War was however
inevitable.
The Northwest Ordinance was upheld in 1787 as a means of stabilising governance for the
North West territories. Under the stewardship of Nathan Dane and Ruffus King, Northwest
Ordinance spelt out Methods of membership and bill of rights for new aspiring states.
The Second Continental Congress, a successor to the first continental congress was
constituted in 1775 shortly after the onset of American Revolutionary War.
Hessian Loyalists in their capacities as aides to Britain fuelled the American British War by
pointing faults with Native American colonies and also facilitating conversion of loyals to
Britain.
The battle of Saratoga emanated from the Saratoga Campaign during the American
Revolutionary War. America was victorious over Britain in this battle. The success of the
battle was attributed to Nathaniel Greene- a major general, Daniel Morgan, Benjamin
Lincoln, and Horato Lloyd Gates.
Articles of Confederation was the first ever written American charter to define the rules of
engagement within the State.
The battle of Trenton was a duel between the continental army under the commandership of
George Washington against the Hessian soldiers stationed at Trenton.
The battle of Cowpens, as part of the campaigns in the Carolinas, was a duel between
American colonial forces under Gen Morgan against British’s Sir Tarlefon.
The battle of Yorktown was considered a major closing battle that warranted independence to
America.
Culper Rings was an intelligence gathering campaign initiated by Major Benjamin Tallmadge
during the British annexation of New York City.
Democratic-Republican was a political party formed by Thomas Jefferson and James
Madison in 1791 as an opposition to the Federalists party.,

an alt to the American Revolution War.
Pinckney’s treaty was a friendship and US-Spanish Florida border definition treaty signed at
San Lorenzo between the US and Spain.
