Our Initial purpose is helping and discover the theatre promotion and promote American film
culture.
Introducing America Theatre Production: Experience Dramas & Comedies, Tony Award winning
Musicals in New York City and Local Community Theatre Productions.
Questions you may want to promote or answers you may want to ask your potential club
members.
What are your interests, from Back Stage to Box Office , Ticket sales and everything in between, if
you have an interest, we’ll help you find the answers, and experience Theatre live.
I noticed that you mentioned Film which is not performed Live and much more difficult to arrange.
It would be easier if you worked with Live Productions, as Film or TV is a process that can take
days, weeks, and months to complete
HOW OFTEN WILL YOU MEET to discuss what Theatre shows is available to attend.
Once or twice a week
Binghamton University Theatre – Once or twice a week may be ok to start or may want to
meet once via a google hangout and once in person. You may find that arranging to meet
at a specific time the most difficult task in organizing a group. Make sure you have
enough Foundation members that each has a responsibility and can handle either
contacting or arranging an aspect of the meeting to keep them running in an efficient and
timely manner.

WHERE WILL YOU MEET: best place to hold meetings? Perhaps meet in one of the
stage or performance spaces? Attend a rehearsal on campus?
WHAT TYPE OF SHOWS? Choose a season of shows to attend? Research what
shows are being shown on campus. Shown in the local community. Travel possibly to
NYC? Arrange for them to be spread out over the year. Get group pricing so that it is
affordable. Shows will not be mandatory, but reservations would be required.
Types of shows: Western Opera, Beijing Opera, Broadway shows, Kunqu Opera,
Chinese and American Musicals and Dumb shows…
Watching Broadway show is the best recommendation for people to attend.
On campus shows:
THE LIAR
An 17th century French comedy in modern verse
SMART PEOPLE
A gripping, contemporary campus drama about race, class and gender politics among
scholars on the eve of the 2008 election of President Obama.
THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND

A new play inspired by patients at the Binghamton State Hospital

Arranging everything for them. ( tickets, hotels, translation, meals, etc..)
There are certain protocols that need to be followed when arranging meeting with
shows and producers or for tours backstage, however, that can be arranged
through the Broadway Theatre Office in Times Square. I would be happy to
assist the Group with contact information when and if the Group desires to do so.
They can also arrange special ticket packages for discounted prices.
WILL YOU DO ACTIVITIES PRIOR, AFTER.
What could be arranged as an extra activity prior to the show? On campus? Meeting
with the director, actors, or after? Opening night party? In community, rehearsal, pre-fixe
dinner, after show dessert & drinks, In NYC, backstage, possible trip to Broadway Offices
and tour.

already ordered, may be able to get a better price.
Do activities prior for advertising and after for supporting
Guiding them to visit the backstage of every show which helps them deeply remember
and understand the operation of the show
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES OF THEATRE HERE TO CHINA- what theatre is
offered in China and is it much different than here. Possibly partake in some of the
specialty classes offered here. Combat, face painting (Opera)
Culture is the product of the society. Way of thinking, Thoughts, Values and Lifestyle are
difference from western and eastern.
May want to offer a class and discuss what Theatre is like is China to Theatre Students
here in Binghamton
Most Chinese operas are based on traditional culture, like happy ending, and don't pay
attention to the development of story plot, mainly for entertainment. While western drama
is a metaphor for social criticism.
ON CAMPUS ACTIVITIES YOU CAN ARRANGE: Visit costume shop, scene shop,
marketing
HOW WILL YOU CHOSE? Will members vote on a group of plays?
Pop quiz and visit several theater memorials ,
POSSIBLE BUS TRIP TO MANHATTAN? Find out costs on arranging such a trip?
It is going to take you about 35 bucks for greyhound ticket to Manhattan. And if our
group is less than 7 people probably we can go there by taking the taxi, which is going to
cost 300 dollars maximum in total. And if we want to rent cars, it is probably going to have
the lowest cost in all the ways. Each car can take like 5 people includes the driver and it
only cost like 50 dollars plus insurance per day.
VISIT TO LIVE BROADWAY OFFICE
What opportunities are available to TALK with PROFESSIONALS
PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS: What types of promotional materials would you use to
promote the club? Examples?
Posters + leaflets + our own way of advertising.
WILL YOU PROMOTE IT PRIOR TO STUDENTS COMING TO STUDY? Is it possible to
promote the club prior to students arriving through schools in China, or would they have
to be contacted once they arrived here.
It’s up to the situation. We can held a entertaining meeting for advertising our club.
We will promote and post our club’s information and activities in China before they arrive,
since it’s hard for Chinese people to get some information through American websites. So
we need to translate our club’s promotion into Chinese as well.
It’s necessary to know their thoughts and suggestions before they arrive.
Would it be interesting to include or expand to other universities as well?
ARRANGE DISCOUNTS OR POSSIBLE ARRANGE PRICING AS A GROUP PRICE?
Invite other universities to our club would be better and more diversified. We could get
more ideas from other universities. About the price, We can find some small sponsors for
helping and supporting. The group ticket would be the best choice for us. For everybody,
it’s Cost-effective.
