Research Paper (100 points) /Oral Presentation (50 points) Directions
Oral Presentation should be approximately 3 minutes, no more than 5 minutes;
highlighting the most pertinent information from your written paper- ( The oral
presentation should be a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation) - Individual
presentation dates TBA in class and handed to you when topic is approved. The
presentations will begin Monday April 16th and run through Monday April 30th (I
Do Not Have a Make-Up Date in the Schedule, so Only Documented Excuses Will be
Accepted for Missing Your Oral Presentation I will work out a makeup date
individually). The class goal is all presentations will be over on April 30th .
I will post the presentation schedule soon, but you should know
your date, ask me if you don’t remember. It’s important to be
in class on your presentation day!!! Very Important!!
Directions for the Written Paper: Due MONDAY April 16, 2018 (MWF sections)
The paper must be typed, and printed, or it will not be graded, I do not want papers
emailed to me.
1. The paper must be 3 to 5 pages, double spaced, 12 pt. font, MLA or APA
format (whichever you are comfortable with)
2. Organization of paper should include Introduction and Theme, Body of Text,
Conclusion and Critical Thinking, and References. I grade on the flow of the
paper, and how easy it is for the reader to follow.
3. You must have a minimum of 4 references
4. The work-cited page is not to be calculated in the length of the paper
5. As part of your research on your topic, The Healthy People 2020 goals and
objectives applicable to your topic must be addressed
6. As part of your conclusion, you must include your opinion on the
effectiveness of how your topic helps the reader become aware of steps to
take in order to live long, healthy lives.
